Garden Work Practice

Sundays in the Garden

Sunday mornings from 10am – 12pm

Join us on for the opportunity to engage in (mostly) silent work-practice in the beautiful Austin Zen Center garden, led by long-term practitioner Sherry Mason! We have made great progress with clearing debris, weeding, and sprucing things up and will be focusing the next few Sunday on getting some plants in the ground. Other garden activities may include pruning, digging, planting, mulching, raking, path-maintenance and more general clean-up. Most recently we completed a very large bamboo mitigation project (see the details), and now have a clean slate for designing an outdoor area if anyone would like to take this on. Otherwise we can simply disperse wildflower seeds. Please contact Head of Grounds Sherry Mason for more information, or sign up on our volunteer form!

Feel free to bring beverages, fruit, or snacks to share. We are continuing to maintain AZC protocols of mask-wearing and social distancing, and ask all volunteers to abide by these protocols.
