This group evolved out of the Buddhist Book group and was meeting weekly to promote engaged practice and Dharma discussion within a number of different venues: we have studied materials on mindfulness practice & koans, have held kitchen-practice sessions with shared meals, held movie and discussion nights, and have participated in Conversation Cafes with the larger sangha. Our main interest is in collaborative engagement and discussion of our individual and shared practice in a warm, friendly and contemplative atmosphere.
Currently the group is reading the book Crooked Cucumber (biography of AZC’s Japanese Zen founder, Shunryu Suzuki Roshi) by one of his earliest disciples, David Chadwick. We meet at 7pm in the
classroom Online Zendo, have a 15 minute sit and then read and listen together, breaking for discussion as appropriate. The meeting will last until 8:15 pm. All are welcome!
