Austin Zen Center will hold a Zaike Tokudo Ceremony (often called Jukai) at 3 pm on January 7, 2023. Rev. Doshin Mako Voelkel will offer and transmit the precepts to sangha members Ed Gadd, Elliot Persico and Mel Walsh.
In this ceremony Bodhisattva initiates receive and acknowledge the sixteen Bodhisattava precepts as an ongoing path of practice in their lives, receive Buddha’s robe (the rakusu they have sewn), as well as their new (Dharma) name. The support and witness of the sangha, family and friends is warmly invited.
