Jason is a Zen priest ordained by Robert Livingston Roshi in 1998. He served as a monk for the New Orleans Zen Temple for 8 years, and lived as a resident at the New Orleans Zen and at Ryumon Ji under Reigen Wang-Genh Roshi. He left Zen practice in 2008, resumed his practice in 2020, and is now a resident of the Austin Zen Center and a student of Rev. Choro Antonaccio where he plans to advance his dedication to Zen practice and help others practice Zen Buddhism. Jason is a nurse practitioner and acupuncturist and holds a PhD in nursing from the University of Texas. He educates healthcare providers locally and nationally on human trafficking and gives free medical care to victims of violence through Red Oak Hope.
