Sunday Zazenkai – In-Person/Online

Join us for a morning of silent informal practice with zazen (seated meditation), kinhin (walking meditation), and basic instruction, with no formal lecture or service.

“You should therefore cease from practice based on intellectual understanding, pursuing words and following after speech, and learn the backward step that turns your light inward to illuminate your self. Body and mind will drop away of themselves, and your original face will be manifest. If you wish to attain suchness, you should practice suchness without delay.”

-Eihei Dogen

We will begin with a brief orientation at 8am and end at 12pm. With 25-min Zazen and 10-min Kinhin, you are welcome to come and go within the schedule (ideally entering and exiting during kinhin periods).

Just come to enjoy the quiet time, and to deepen your meditation through an extended period of sitting.

This offering is by donation only. While we suggest a program fee of $25/members, $35/nonmembers, please donate whatever amount, more or less, that you feel inspired to.

* PLEASE NOTE: You will need to register below – either to receive the Zoom Link for the online zendo, or to enter the temple for in-person sitting (if possible). Please only enter during transition periods (between zazen and kinhin).
