.The search for the right appliances has begun.  We are looking at many different options to find just the right ones to suit the needs of our temple, our sangha, and our residents.  Our temple is located in a home, but our needs are not strictly residential, so the search has been a bit tricky at times.  We are trying to straddle the line between residential and commercial appliances to ensure usability and ease of cooking for one person up to 35 or more during retreat.  

One option that we have looked at is a custom stainless steel sink similar to the one shown here.  If you have ever washed dishes during sesshin, you will probably be just as excited as the guys in this photo to think of the possibilities in our redesigned space.
