In Dogen Zenji’s Keisei Sanshoku he says, “When great compassion is deep within you, and your wish to spiritually aid sentient beings everywhere is well seasoned, there are no such (karmic) obstructions.” All are welcome to join us for this One-Day Retreat on Compassion at the Austin Zen Center, where we will be investigating the power of this vow of Great Compassion through a day of seated and walking meditation (some guided, some not), dharma talk, formal oryoki lunch, and silent work practice. Vegetarian lunch will be provided. Oryoki instruction is required for newcomers, and will be held at 6pm on Friday evening before the retreat. Oryoki bowls are available for rental.
Retreat Fees: $70 members/$90 non-members
Oryoki rental: $5.00
