Subject: [Buddhist Assoc.] Life and Hope Candlelight Vigil for
Myanmar and China Victims by IBPS-Austin (5/31)

Dear Friends,

The recent cyclone in Myanmar and earthquake in China have caused
thousands of casualties and tremendous suffering to countless people.
IBPS-Austin (Hsiang Yun Temple) is organizing a 'Life and Hope'
candlelight vigil at 8 p.m. on Saturday, May 31 on the South Steps of
the State Capitol.

IBPS-Austin would like to invite everyone in Austin to participate in
this special prayer to exemplify the loving-kindness and compassion
of Buddha. We wish to express our loving care towards life, remember
the deceased, and console the survivors during this event. We pray
that all the survivors will receive timely assistance to rebuild
their homes and that the world be free from any future disasters.

Every participant will be provided with a battery-operated candle to
symbolize a light of hope. We will read the "Prayer for Victims of
Cyclone in Myanmar and Earthquake in Sichuan China" by Master Hsing
Yun. Our fellow musicians plan to convey their goodwill through their
songs and performances.
