All,

I recently completed the Alternative Dispute Resolution's 40-hour mediation training.  The form of mediation in which I have been training is "interest-based mediation."  The goal of this form of mediation is to allow the parties in dispute to communicate with each other in a neutral environment, and to allow the parties to formulate and create options to address a problem that meets the interests of both parties.

I feel that this process has much in common with the principles of Marshall Rosenberg's Non-Violent Communication for conflict resolution.

Although I have the basic training required under Texas law for conducting mediation, I would like to get experience as a mediator.  Therefore, I am offering my services as a mediator for free to the Austin Zen Center, members and friends of our community.   I also have access to a number of individuals who have also received the training and would serve as a co-mediator.

If you would like more inforamtion or are interested in receiving these services, please let me know.  Please note that parties in dispute must voluntarily request mediation.

Yours,

Alexandra
