| There is generally no charge for participating in weekly schedule events whether you are a member or not except for classes. Please come at least five minutes early. Sometimes regularly scheduled weekly events are preempted by a workshop or retreat. There is generally a short interim period after practice periods when the weekly schedule is suspended. Saturday Morning Program
Most people start practicing with us on Saturday mornings, the most lively part of the week at AZC. We suggest beginning with the Beginners' Intro and staying all morning on the first visit. If you cannot come Saturday, arrange private instruction at another time with the Ino.
8:30 to 9:15 AM - Beginners' Intro Class (meet in dining room) 8:30 to 9:15 AM - Precepts and Practice Class (intermittently).
9:30 to 10:00 AM - Zazen 10:15 to ~11:00 AM - Lecture ~11:00 AM - Tea and cookies, Q&A
Early Evenings (Monday through Friday)
Many come to zazen after work, some entering the zendo late. The most current evening classes are described here.
5:40 PM - Zazen
6:20 PM - Service
6:30 PM - Frequently Class or Dharma Talk or other Event.
Noon Sits (Monday, Wednesday).
Stay for lunch, but let us know in advance.
11:30 PM - Noon - Zazen.
Weekday Mornings (Monday through Friday)
In the stillness of the morning we arrive in silence and with find our seats.You may leave or arrive during kinhin to sit one period, or sit both periods. You may optionally depart before service or soji. Or stay for breakfast.

6:10 AM - Kinhin (walking meditation)
6:20 AM - Zazen
7:00 AM - Service
7:20 AM - Soji (light work-practice)
7:35 AM - End Soji
Guest Groups at Austin Zen Center
Guest groups are offered space, operate independently of Austin Zen Center, but are consistent with AZC's mission.

Class Schedule.
Classes are offered periodically. There is generally a seriew of 8-week weekly classes offered three times a year, generally meeting on weekday evenings. There are also seminars on some Saturday afternoons. See the calendar page for upcoming classes and seminars.

Other Offerings
Zen Center staff, senior residents, practice leaders and the Senior Teacher are available throughout the week to answer questions and offer instruction. Volunteers are always needed inside and outside of the zendo. Practice leaders can help develop a program of training and study, and provide advice and counciling on practicing in the world and with one's own karmic situation.
